Expectations and Attempted Explanations

Homecoming

Recently I've come across an idea. What if homecoming parties are like gigantic societal earthquakes? The party would be the slip releasing pent up tension and stress. Aftershocks would occur when the people who have to work 12 days in a row (like me) to get ready, clean up etc. finally get time off. I wonder if there are any studies showing an increase in focus and retaining knowledge in the weeks after a big party?
